Ard-Ri, The High King

Our first inlaid game box, Ard-Ri is a Scottish precursor to chess.  This version is played on a 7 by 7 grid.  The Norse version is played on a larger game board with slightly different rules.  The basic premise of both games is that the board represents the king's throne room, which is being invaded.  The goal is for the king and the kings guard to repel the attacking force.  The invader's goal is to capture the king.

COIN RACKS

For collectors of challenge coins or Geo coins, our three tiered coin rack is just the thing to show off your collection.  Made from spalted maple, sapelle, red oak, or poplar, a standard coin rack holds approximately 30 coins and is 18 inches long.  We are also happy to make racks to fit your specifications.  Need one longer or shorter, maybe with a few more levels?  We can do that!

OIL LAMPS

Move over candles- oil lamps are here!  About the same size as a votive candle holder, these lamps include a wooden base and a glass lamp with removable top and fiberglass wick. Each lamp holds about 2oz of lamp oil, which is available at most craft and hardware stores, and will burn for about 2 hours. Prices range between $20.00- $25.00 per lamp.  Very small funnel included.

BOWLS

We offer two types of bowls at this time. We have decorative bowls, which are slightly smaller than 2” by 6”, available in a variety of woods, and finished to a semi-gloss sheen. We also have individual salad bowls made from Italian Olive wood and finished with Walnut oil, which is a food grade finish.  For my fellow garlic lovers, I have heard that you can cut open a clove of garlic, rub it on the inside of the bowl, and then toss your salad in the bowl to give it a little extra flavor.  I have not yet tried this myself, but will update the web site when I do.

BOXES

Because of the very personal nature of boxes, they will be one of the last items to go into regular production, but we love doing custom boxes.  Our "standard box" has no visable hardware.  The lid is held in place by two pins hidden in the back of the box on which the lid pivots.  These make great trinket boxes and jewelry boxes.
